Anetic Aid joins Royal tribute to Nurse Edith Cavell

Edith Cavell is celebrated for saving the lives of soldiers from both sides of the conflict during the First World War.

She also helped some 200 Allied troops escape from German-occupied Belgium, for which she was shot by a German firing squad, causing an international outcry.

Many feel she never received the recognition she deserved, so this year – which marks the centenary of her death – has seen events in Britain, Belgium and Canada to celebrate her achievements.

Anetic Aid’s International Sales Manager Mike Pritchett and representatives of the company’s Belgian Distributor Dermat Medical, together with some of their customers, were at the reception where other guests included HRH the Princess Royal’s husband Sir Tim Laurence, family of Edith Cavell, politicians and representatives of the Belgian Health Service.

Said Mike Pritchett: ‘It was a privilege to be at one of the events paying tribute to such a remarkable woman.’ Hailed as a patriot and a heroine, Edith Cavell is said to have wanted to be remembered simply as a nurse.
